New Orleans Creole Tomato Pasta Sauce Recipe
Creole and Italian flavors come together in this recipe that can be made as a side dish or a main dish when accompanied with your favorite baked, grilled or broiled meat.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 (14-16 oz) can of stewed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 package Cookin' Cajun New Orleans Creole Pasta Sauce Seasoning Blend
- 9 oz cooked pasta
Directions:
Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add tomatoes, water and entire contents of Creole Pasta Sauce Seasoning Blend and stir well. Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Toss with pasta and serve. If pasta draws moisture out of sauce, add small amounts of water or white wine and stir until desired consistency is reached.
*Fully cooked meat such as chicken, sausage or seafood can be added just before mixing with pasta.
